Jeep's 4xe Lineup in Kinston, NC

Get To Know Jeep’s 4xe Lineup

Jeep offers the best of both worlds with its 4xe lineup– two plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) models: the Grand Cherokee 4xe and the Wrangler 4xe. Jeep is excited to take these two uber-popular models to new heights. Let’s explore the technology that makes up this fantastic lineup below.

Understanding Jeep’s 4xe PHEV Technology

First, let’s talk a little bit about PHEV; you are given your option of the spoils with PHEV. Enjoy the comfortable convenience of a gas engine, the option to plug into a power source to renew your electric energy and the beauty of hybrid power reserving technology that works off of the energy your car expends. You are essentially granted three methods of accessing power when you drive a PHEV.

You have the option to select which power “mode” you would like your vehicle to be in: Gas (represented by a gas pump icon), Hybrid, Electric, and E-Save.

Electric Mode: Nearly zero tailpipe emissions. The Wrangler 4xe can operate for up to 21 miles in this mode.

Hybrid Mode:This is the default mode and delivers maximum horsepower and powerful torque. Electric power is used first when in this mode.

E-Save Mode: This mode saves battery charge to be used later.

Gas Mode: Naturally, this mode uses gas as the driving force.

Regenerative Energy and Charging Your 4xe

An amazing feature of hybrid technology is regenerative braking. This allows your electric battery to be charged through the force of braking. The other way to get electric power is by plugging your vehicle up into a power source. There are Level 1, Level 2, and Direct-Current (DC) fast-charging power stations located in public areas like shopping malls, gas stations, workplaces, and along highways. You can have a Level 1 or Level 2 charging station installed at your home, and many homes already have power compatibility for these methods of charging.

When you’re out and about, easily locate charging stations with a quick internet search!
