The pickup Is not only ready for serious work duties and trail exploration, it can also be configured with state-of-the-art safety systems to protect everyone onboard from the unpredictable hazards of the road. It even offers an array of exciting entertainment options to make even the longest road trips endlessly engaging.

The Gladiator makes its debut for 2020, and the new compact pickup premiers with a brawny engine, tough off-roading chops, and a refreshingly comfortable cabin with boundless options for customization. The Gladiator shares many similarities with the iconic Jeep Wrangler, and the resemblance goes far beyond the familiar boxy shape, toothy grille, and circular lights. It absolutely thrives when you venture off the pavement, and the cabin can be opened up with removable doors, tops, and other features.
While the Gladiator promises stable handing on streets and interstates, it’s truly in its element when you rumble off the beaten path. It navigates uneven terrain with confidence, and drivers who tend to spend more time in the wild than on the highway should consider the rugged Rubicon trim, which comes standard with a low-gear transfer case, locking front and rear differentials, Fox shocks, and Rock-Trac four-wheel drive. The Gladiator is powered by a 285-horsepower V6, and transmission is handled by your choice of the standard six-speed manual or the available eight-speed automatic. When fully equipped for work duties, the truck can tow up to 7,650 pounds and haul up to 1,600 pounds in its 5-foot truck bed.
The five-seater Gladiator combines functionality with comfort in its contemporary cabin, and both rows provide supportive seating with generous legroom. The standard materials are durable and practical though not spartan, and they’re also water resistant in case you need to hose out the Jeep after a particularly muddy trek. Across the trim range, you can also opt for upgrades like premium cloth upholstery, leather seating, and a heated steering wheel. When children ride along, their car seats can be secured in the back row via two complete set of LATCH connections.
The user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system comes standard, as do Bluetooth®* and two USB ports. Jeep also offers navigation, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, and a portable waterproof Bluetooth® speaker. A rearview camera is standard on every Gladiator, and you can also opt for additional safety systems like forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.
While Jeep consistently emphasizes top performance across their lineup, they certainly haven’t missed any opportunities to adapt to changing markets and new technology. The maker’s history reaches back to the 1940s, when the original Jeep models were deployed as military personnel transports in punishing terrains. Durable models like the Willys Jeep 4×4, Jeep FC Series, and Jeepster Commando established the brand’s off-road supremacy over decades of development, and as time passed, their cabins began to show strides in interior comfort and convenience as well.
Jeep produced trucks as early as the 1960s, with the original Gladiator/J Series sporting a conventional pickup design. When the Gladiator name was revived for 2020, the maker drew heavily from the Wrangler’s body and ability. This modern compact truck handles hauling and towing duties with considerable muscle, and it also demonstrates the off-road mastery that drivers expect from Jeep.
Combining rugged performance, straightforward functionality, and contemporary comfort, the Gladiator is able to adapt to virtually any situation.
